I am a journalist, editor, and photographer, based in New York. I have covered national news, politics, technology, and global issues for NPR, Vice News, The Washington Post, The Appeal, The Markup, and The Verge.
I am currently the executive digital editor for ARTnews and Art in America, the leading magazines covering fine art and the growing art industry, where we have interrogated the exploding (and collapsing) NFT market, regulatory issues at a leading startup securitizing artworks, and rapidly changing business of art.
Previously, I served as Insider’s first international correspondent where I reported on culture, art, travel, technology, and business from over 20 countries. In Bali, I covered the deleterious effects of ride-hailing apps on centuries-old traditions. In China, I discovered growing pains at one of the country’s most hyped tech startups. In Israel, I followed the Arab leader likened to both Martin Luther King, Jr. and a terrorist. In New York, I hung out with Sean Miyashiro, the enigmatic founder of one of the hottest companies in hip-hop.
I additionally served as Insider’s deputy news editor, overseeing a thirty-person team covering breaking news, politics, foreign affairs, and sports. As a reporter, I used text, photography, and video to cover an extraordinary attempt at police reform in New York's capital and the election of a groundbreaking progressive district attorney in Philadelphia, among other stories.
